Planting Instructions
Bare soil vs. overseeding matters — but both are possible.
Microclover can be planted into prepared bare soil or overseeded into existing lawns. The best approach depends on your starting conditions and desired results.
Bare Soil Planting
- Ideal for new lawns or full lawn replacements
- Remove existing vegetation and loosen the top 1–2 inches of soil
- Broadcast seed evenly and lightly press into the soil surface
Overseeding
- Excellent for thickening thin lawns and filling bare spots
- Mow existing grass low before seeding
- Lightly rake to ensure good seed-to-soil contact
Timing & Establishment
- Spring or early fall planting is ideal
- Keep soil evenly moist during establishment
- Reduce watering once plants are established
What to Expect
- Germination typically occurs within 7–14 days
- Lawn color deepens as nitrogen becomes available to companion plants
- Flowering remains subtle and low-growing
